cañaman: the first latin reggae band
It is very rare that an album from a Spanish reggae band has been so well received as has this last album by CAÑAMAN. For some years now, they have been the representatives of the reggae scene in Spain. Their entire album “FRONTERAS” was recorded in Kingston (Jamaica) and was produced by none other than Sly & Robbie. Furthermore the exclusive collaborations of Anthony B, Marcia Griffiths, Sly & Robbie and prophet, The king of fire, The Fireman... Capleton give this album its special touch. The ‘Fiesta Rasta’ video-clip featuring Capleton will no doubt be televised on “ reggae” programmes world-wide on its release.

“FRONTERAS” has been nurtured and cared for until the last detail with the intention of placing this talented band in an important position both nationally and internationally. Their hard work and dedication, as well as, the prime collaborations are factors adding to this possibility. Nice Time, label established in Jamaica and dedicated to reggae, is responsible for production and Boa co-produced it.

“FRONTERAS” is an album which illustrates an ample diversification of styles starting from “foundation riddims”, “new roots” to “dancehall” sounds that obviously open up minds and objectives of unconditional followers of this music from the Caribbean. The album transmits its positive vibes throughout. The mere fact that this release was recorded in Jamaica means that everything positive about this unusual and powerful island is latent in the album.
